Tim Baynes
LCSW, CCTP
Tim is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker in the state of Illinois. He received his Masters Degree in Social Work from Loyola University Chicago.
As a licensed clinical social worker, Tim believes that therapy should offer an opportunity for people to explore a variety of aspects of their lives and identify the innate strengths that they possess. By providing a safe, compassionate space, clients are able to explore and process the thoughts and emotions that impact their behaviors. By providing feedback and education, clients can make small changes that can have a big impact on their lives.
Tim utilizes a variety of clinical approaches including, cognitive behavioral therapy, dialectical behavioral therapy, solution-focused therapy, and a strengths-based approach. As everyone he works with comes from a different place, he recognizes the need to have different approaches when approaching different problems.
Tim specializes in working with individuals who have experienced trauma, depression, anxiety, relationship issues, and general work/life stress. He has found that he particularly enjoys working with men who are seeking therapy for the first time and making it a positive experience.
When Tim is not working, he enjoys spending time with his family, swimming, and cooking. He is also a bit of a self-proclaimed nerd and loves staying up to date with all of the latest Marvel and Star Wars movies and TV shows.
