Jennifer earned her Masters of Science in Clinical Psychology from Benedictine University in 2020 and is a Licensed Clinical Professional Counselor. Over the past five years, Jennifer has worked in community mental health and has experience working with adolescents, couples and adults. Jennifer is a fierce advocate for the LGBTQ+ community and is passionate about theunique challenges facing this population. Her area of expertise includes trauma informed psychotherapy, working with PTSD symptoms and triggers stemming either from childhood events to a recent event as an adult. Jennifer also has experience working with anxiety, depression, workplace stressors, grief and loss. She also works closely with individuals and families exploring sexual orientation, gender identity and the coming out process. She is an adjunct professor at Benedictine University teaching for the undergraduate Psychology department.
Jennifer creates a calm and safe atmosphere with each of her clients and pulls from a number of modalities such as EMDRIA approved training in EMDR, trauma informed Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Dialectical Behavioral Therapy, Person-Centered Therapy, Internal Family Systems, Attachment Theory and Somatic Experiencing and Polyvagal Theory. Jennifer believes that the body and mind are connected, and when a person experiences challenges at school or work, or worse, a traumatic event, this creates a rippling affect through the body. Allowing each client to connect with their body allows for a deeper holistic therapeutic process.
