Katie is Licensed Professional Counselor in the State of Illinois.  She obtained her Bachelor Degree in Criminal Justice and Psychology from Illinois State University, and her Masters Degree in Counseling Psychology from Lewis University.  She has been working in the fields of psychology and criminal justice for over 15 years.  Katie’s experience is in a mixture of settings including the court and prison system, hospital based mental health services and private practice. 

Katie specializes in treating trauma, grief/loss issues, and first responders with an emphasis on law enforcement officers. Katie is a Certified Clinical Trauma Professional. Katie also regularly treats anxiety, depression, crisis intervention, eating disorders, women's issues, life transitions, substance abuse and marriage/family issues.  Katie sees a wide base of clients including children, adolescents and adults.  As a therapist, Katie strives to create a positive and nurturing atmosphere where individuals can be supported in their efforts to grow and change. She believes therapy should be an experience tailored to fit each client's needs. An integral therapist, Katie combines evidence based strategies from a variety of therapies including client centered, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) and Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT).
