She also holds her Masters degree in Social Work/Behavioral Sciences from Wayne State University in Michigan.

Amy worked as a school social worker in Novi, Michigan at both the high school and elementary school levels.  After moving to Ohio, she worked at Humanistic Counseling Center/Family Achievement Center in Cleveland, Ohio.  She worked with clients of various ages dealing with issues related to ADHD, depression, perfectionism, procrastination, organization skills, and school related difficulties such as organization skills, bullying, social skills, parenting, abandonment, and family counseling while under supervision towards receiving her LISW. Amy also worked as a medical social worker in several settings in Michigan, Ohio, and at Edward Hospital in Naperville, IL.

Amy had always valued the importance of therapy but also had a special love and appreciation for the practice of yoga. She had practiced yoga for many years and decided to obtain her teaching/training in 2010. She received her first training through Baron Baptiste and then later that year received her 200 hour RYT.

She has since opened her yoga studio, Twist Yoga Lounge in Plainfield in 2013. She also teaches yoga in other settings at corporations and therapy groups. Amy is extremely grateful for the opportunity to bring healing to people in a therapeutic, holistic approach through the practice of yoga.

She brings her experience, knowledge, sense of humor and positive energy to each student. Her goal is to help others realize their full potential and to realize that healing takes place most powerfully when we find stillness of our minds.

Amy both provides outpatient therapy for clients across the lifespan at Oswego Wellness, and facilitates the women and teen therapeutic yoga/process groups Come as You Are and Grounded.

Fun facts: Amy volunteers at the Naperville Humane Society with her 13 -year- old daughter and has two rescued cats and a rescued dog at home. In addition to her daughter, she lives at home with her 16- year- old son and husband.
