Jennifer is a Licensed Clinical Professional Counselor and a Certified Alcohol and Drug Counselor in the state of Illinois. She obtained her Bachelor's Degree in Psychology from Grand Valley State University and her Masters Degree in Counseling Psychology from Northwestern University. She has been working in the field of psychology and criminal justice for over 17 years. Jennifer has experience working in a mixture of settings including juvenile detention, community mental health, ER/crisis evaluation, hospital based mental health services, and private practice. Jennifer had the privilege of working as an Intake Counselor at the nationally recognized Linden Oaks at Edward for over 8 years before going into private practice work.
Jennifer specializes in addictions, mood disorders, anxiety disorders, crisis intervention, perinatal mood disorders, infertility, and life transition issues. Jennifer has a wide range of experience working with adolescents, adults and families and believes that the therapeutic relationship is key to success in treatment. As an integrative therapist, Jennifer utilizes a variety of evidence based treatment modalities including Cognitive Behavioral therapy (CBT), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Client Centered therapy and Mindfulness in order to create a treatment approach that best fits each individual. In addition to her position as an outpatient therapist at Oswego Wellness, Jennifer also holds a position at a private practice in Naperville, where she has worked with a diverse population of individuals, couples, and families for over 3 years. Jennifer strives to provide a safe, comfortable, and warm environment so that maximum growth can occur.
